Day 5

I woke up today with serious stomach aches! Let me back track a bit, I used to battle with peptic ulcer for years and although, it's not as bad as it used to be, I was hopeful that this fast will give my body the necessary time and tool it needs to self-heal. But alas, the stomach decided to throw shades at me this morning. I kinda suspect what caused it. I was on the streets of Instagram last night when I happened upon a favourite comedian's page. The guy's skits are centred around gluttonous eating and I did laugh hard as always after watching his latest video. But unknown to me, my brain registered the video in my subconscious mind and rather than shutting up and having my back, it decided to snitch to my body. Hence, the intense pains. I'll be ending the week-long fast today with cucumber and watermelon smoothie. I'm not sure I can eat anything for now. I'll probably try chicken salad tomorrow by God's grace. This journey continues and you can be sure of

Day 4

Today started on a good note. No headaches or hunger pangs and I couldn't be happier. I wish I had started this earlier, but then I believe this is the right time. I contemplated ending the fast last night as I was feeling lightheaded, but thankfully, a good night's sleep did the magic. I have resolved to end the fast on Sunday at 4pm (so help me God!). Good news is, the intense pain in my knees and ankles has disappeared. I've lost three inches off my waistline and my body feels lighter. I'm doing a lot of research to come up with a suitable meal plan that would work for me in the long run. This journey is a marathon and not a sprint and I intend to follow through to the end, God helping me. We move! Ciao!!

Day 3

I woke up in high spirits today. The crazy hunger pang is slowly dying down and I am feeling pumped so I'll extend this water fast for a couple of days more. Oh, I forgot to mention that the mood swings ( or withdrawal syndrome) have passed. I'll be going to the supermarket this evening after work to get packs of water as I've exhausted the ones I bought on Monday.  Wish me luck guys! Ciao!!

Day 2 (09/06/2021)

I'm feeling a bit light-headed, but in good spirit. I've consumed 1.5 litres of water so far and I intend to hit my 2.5 litres goal by the end of today. I'm surprised that my sweet tooth and exotic palate haven't collapsed so far. Next step is to add light exercises to tone, firm and build muscles, but I'm not in the mood for any physical exertions yet. Although, I might commence after my day 7 days water therapy. Beyond losing the pounds, I'm glad that I get to give my body the much needed break to self-heal and self-restore as designed by God. I'll be back tomorrow. Ciao!

Day 1 (08/06/2021)

I commenced intermittent fast at 4pm the day before. I was supposed to end the fast at 4pm today, but then thought about the weight I've been carrying around for a while now and decided I was ready let go of it. There and then, I resolved to continue a water fast for as long as my body can permit (3-7days). For as long as I can remember, I've always been labelled "Orobo, Global, Fatty, Iburibu, Udu and so on." While I dismissed these names as people's ignorance of understanding that we were all uniquely designed, these words subtly crept into my subconscious and gently began to affect my mental health. Well, just so the naysayers don't have the last laugh, I made a promise to God and myself to honour his temple by taking extra special care of myself. Moreover, I'll be turning forty in March, 2022 and I want to give myself an amazing birthday gift. I love being a curvy girl minus all the "tyre" rolls (inserts laugh). My short term goal is to drop

Hello there!

Welcome to my blog!  This is my safe space to vent and a peek into my personal challenges and victories. I hope you'll find my posts interesting. Over the years, I've had to struggle with my weight going 'upandan' and since I'll be turning forty in March, 2022, I decided to take my health goals seriously hence, this blog. It is also an avenue for me remain accountable. The first milestone is set for 31st December, 2021 and I hope I'll stay true to myself and remain consistent. I'm currently a UK size 22 and my ultimate goal is to hit a UK size 14 (so help me God!). I'll be posting before and after photos as I progress. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to read your comments. PS: If you're here to troll then I'd suggest you keep your opinions to yourself. Thank you.
